About
In my life SciFi and cupcakes merge into a blend of crafts, graphic design and ramblings. This is a website about me and the details of my various personal work and projects.
My passion is volunteering and sharing my skills with people or projects that need it. I believe that by helping others, you help yourself by learning and sharing and enjoying the connections we create with one another. Whether it’s crafting, cooking, fundraising, digital design, yoga, DIY-ing, cupcakes, expressing myself or just sharing something silly…I’m sure there’s something you could learn or that you might relate to something in my world.
I am the co-founder of Fr33 Aid and consider myself their Mistress of Marketing. It has been my free range baby as all the graphics and branding has been created by me with the help of my co-founder Teresa and my favorite spokesperson, Stephanie of Porc Therapy. I help manage their content, display needs, social media and keep the website looking snazzy. My ability to do graphic design and marketing is a great combination. There are some things that are outside of my skill set, but usually I can DIY it and save time as well as create a visual aid quickly to keep content moving.
Marketing for me isn’t really about marketing. It’s about expressing yourself and letting your business express itself. When you do this, people stop and take notice, and generally your work becomes easier as well. What they are noticing is a genuine feeling of connection and a lot of times they will stop and say “Hey! I feel the same way.” which is what you want. It is about getting personal and dropping all the bullshit. With as much information as we have to accumulate in our lives, we are eliminating as much bullshit as possible. If you want to be heard, no…if you want to CONNECT, well you have to cut the bullshit. Get real and let people discover the part about you that works for them. Have fun, do yoga and just engage instead of market yourself or your business. We all need jobs, cheap stuff, to promote something, to share something, to find joy in something…just do what comes natural and the rest will follow.
“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: “What! You too? I thought I was the only one.”
― C.S. Lewis
